Volunteering in the UK and China
A comparative research project.
Manchester China Institute Research Fellow, Dr. Katja Levy is undertaking a unique, comparative study examining philanthropic behaviour in the UK and China.
Why do individuals volunteer, and what role does the political-legal background play in it? At the Manchester China Institute, Dr Katja Levy has set out to tackle these questions in an exciting research project on Volunteering in the UK and China. By comparing two very different country cases, the UK and the People's Republic of China, the project hopes to contribute to a better understanding of volunteering and ways to foster it. This independent research project has been made possible by a generous donation from Kui Man Gerry Yeung OBE DL.
