2024 UK-China International Photography Competition
This is a virtual gallery dedicated to our 2024 finalists and winners.
The theme of the 2024 UK-China International Photography Competition was 'Daily Rituals’ (每日仪式), with the contest running from February to April 2024. The top 30 finalist and winning photos were shortlisted out of hundreds of submissions received from China and the UK.
These are currently publicly exhibited in a bilingual gallery based at Alliance Manchester Business School until Saturday, 1 June 2024. The exhibition launch and awards ceremony was held there on Wednesday, 1 May 2024.

'Love in a small town' | 小城大爱
Every morning, sanitation workers sweep the streets. This is a solemn ceremony when the small city meets a new day. A big umbrella on the wall protects her from rain on cloudy days and shades her from the sun on sunny days, which is a noble ritual of a small town to care for labourers.

'Cold Water Plunge Ladies' | 冷水游泳的女士们
I followed a group of ladies just after lockdown who found that cold water swimming helped with their mental health and also with a lot of other health issues. They built friendships and relationships, meeting for meditation sessions and bringing their children to help them with their issues arising from lockdown. It was a brilliant community made from complete strangers.
